day break.

Corinne Day (1965-2010) was one of the most ground breaking photographers i've ever seen. She was often commisioned for Vogue so you will have seen tons of her work. her photographs captured more than just the model and the garments, they were more like portraits, capturing the model's personality and essence. She was famed for her portraits of Kate Moss for FACE magazine, pretty much creating 'Herion Chic'.
Always known for being difficult to work with, Day would move models by millimetres to create the perfect shot. Her photoshoot 'Golden Years' which appeared in Vogue in 2007 inspired me to want to work in fashion. She created amazing shots with the most elaborate backgrounds which completely complemented the Haute Couture garments she was photographing.
Her work is incredible and i encourage everyone to look her up, she wasn't just a 'fashion photographer' her work is inspired and are all works of art.
Her are some of my favourites to give you a taster.

this is the shot which convinced me i had to work in fashion.
'Golden Years' Vogue 2007

I love the dress in contrast with the set, the photograph tells so much more than just capturing the beauty of the garment.

one of the 'Faces'. So beautiful, think she'd swap faces with me?

There's so much i love about this, it's such an action shot, makes me want to be back at the festivals.

One of her earlier works, i think it was these shots she was heavily criticised about, how young models were being made to parade about in saucy undies, but they're beautiful, some people have no concept of fashion honestly.

This is one of my favourites, it's captured the woman looking so vunerable but so brave by bearing all during her pregnancy.

This looks so iconic, how you want all your summers to be really. If only.

The movement in this is incredible, the contrast of the model's simplicity with the drama of the dancers is gorgeous.
