Moonrise Kingdom.

The other night I was sitting watching telly, when the most obscure advert for a film came on. What originally looked like a quirky kids film turns out to have a starring cast of Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray. The story is of a 12 year old boy and girl who run away together, and set in 1960s New England, their adventure forces their whole town out to look for them, including a group of Boy Scouts. It appears to have that hilarious, quirky comedy of 'Youth in Revolt', where you don't fully know what's going on but it's just so good to watch.
What caught my eye about this whole thing was the young girl in the most adorable and current 60s clothes. A mini, Peter Panned collared dress in ice cream pink matched with a gorgeous wicker satchel, white knee high socks and solid yellow suitcase is the main 'look' of the film ( I don't really know the rest as it's not yet released ). It screams 60s without being too try hard. The overall look is effortlessly cool and the little girl, Kara Hayward, is an absolute babe. The little boy, played by Jared Gilman, should not be left out. Kitted in a retro Boy Scouts uniform with one of those amazing hats which has a skunk (animal?) tail hanging down the back.
This whole film just looks amazing. The advert gives nothing away to the film so you'll just need to go watch it! It's near the top of my films to see list, just after The Dictator.
