As much as I appreciate individuality etc. this September's London Fashion Week had faaar too much clownin' and not enough sharp suitin'. This woman actually stood out in black, and she is fierce as hell - even with her trainers on.

This weekend I had a three day celebration for my cousin Laura's 21st, and this has started the horrific questions of "NOW WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FOR YOUR 21ST REBECCA???".

To any normal person this is fantastic but I am the most fussy person in the world. I don't like silver, unless it's a certain type of silver. I like simple. I am just a horrific person to buy for, as my friend Katie has been reminding me every single time I see her. It's quite traditional to get jewellery for your 21st, but I never exceed more than 3 items of jewellery at the one time, and it's the exact same thing every single time. I've been wearing my Sakdidet Road skull necklace since my birthday last year, that is commitment.

SOO i've started hunting for jewellery, and I have come across the beautiful Brooklyn based design duo Dana Hurwitz & Vincent Barile. They are apparently inspired by the three Fs of fashion, fetish + found objects. The pieces I am in love with are clearly inspired by household items, such as chain and window locks and the piece I most desire is the 'Hitch Ring'. I have no idea what a Hitch Ring is but I want one. Their prices range from $33-$66 so not ridiculous at all.

Since our typography class last semester I have become unreasonably judgemental about fonts. Refusing to buy certain birthday cards because the fonts ugly and WHY did they think that would say Happy Birthday??? Yes, this is how my brain works. I also have an unnatural love for Times New Roman, but that is a completely different matter altogether.

The meaning of this post is to declare my love for good typography and layout, and no magazine has my love more than '1883'. A relatively young magazine, currently on it's 4th isuue, it is released quarterly and has some of the best fonts+layouts than any other current fashion and culture magazine, think bold fonts, brilliant colours and brave placement

I find it annoyingly hard to get, althought Ayr's WHSmith may come out with a few gems such as The Hunger, Fantastic Man and Garage it is never the most reliable source. Chadwick Tyler.

I've been obsessed with Chadwick Tyler ever since I bought Grey Magazine Issue 5 back at London Fashion Week in September. Tyler did a editorial spread with Mercedes Benz, which was both beautiful and eerie. That however is a consistent theme within his work and takes fashion to that uncomfortable edge which not many photographers can do.

my pretty, petty thieves.

Apologies for neglect bloggy, but here are photos from our fashion photography course. We had to pick a song lyric, mines was "we are pretty, petty thieves and you're standing in our streets", and it had to be shot with the image of i-D magazine in mind. HERE WE GO! not close to a final 8 but i'm going to print these ones and judge it from there because this is ridiculously  hard to narrow down!!!
