In The Company of Wolves

I really am a bad blogger, and I'm placing the full blame on the amount of work I have for Univeristy at the moment. Currently, I've just started Still Life photography and am in love with Richard Billingham's work, and i'm nearing the filming stages for my short film, which is based on the shoe brand Jeffrey Campbell.
Last Wednesday (26th Oct) however I did neglect the world of Gala for a day and volunteered to work at the In the Company of Wolves show at Subclub in Glasgow. Now, I appliedto be a dresser, and despite only dressing myself and awkwardly trying to put clothes on my younger cousins, and I was picked to be one of the dressers! Thank god my model was fully capable of helping with the dressing, I've heard stories of girls having to put SOCKS on their models in the past. I mean really? I can barely put socks on myself gracefully, let alone over someone elses foot, and even then this could lead on to the whole "I don't touch other people's feet" debate.
The show featured some brilliant designers, and many went to Gala themselves! Such as Athif Dean, who allowed me to be covered in his furs for our magazine photoshoot last year. I was also lucky enough to be dressing my model in his black McQueen-esque gown, and Jesus Christ, that thing was probably the same weight as me, my poor model, Julia, probably has a crippled back after wearing it, but it looked absolutely stunning going down the catwalk.
The clothes ranged from wearable, to dramatic to just down right crazy. My favourite collection above all was the horrow movie inspired collection by Bonnie Bling, which featured a hairband with a knife stabbing through it, 'Come Play With Us' knuckle dusters and a hat covered in birds.
The models' make up was fierce as hell too, with dramatic eyes, big hair and studded nails by DIY nails.
Now, the shoes were a different thing altogether. I am a shoe lover, and Dawntroversial's shoes were orgasmic. All hand decorated, the shoes were covered in glitter and cosmic prints. The heels were huge and there were even copy cat JC Litas. Really, Dawntroversial were lucky I didn't run off with ten pairs in my bag.

A lot of pictures, but who doesn't love pictures?

The show featured works by:
Bonnie Bling, Isolated Heros, Isla Scott, LilyLoveLock, Jenivieve Berlin Millinery, MeeMee Couture, Jennie Loof, Linzi Austin, Fair Feathered Friend, ChouChou, Velvet Elvis, Sweetie Danger, Elanor's Riot, Aimee Donofrio, Helena O'Neill & Athif Dean. Check them all out because it was all beautiful.
