Still Life photography.

Finally handed in all my work and scadaddled back home to Ayr through the snow and rain and i'm going to LANDAAN on thursday night so life is swell. Thought I would finally put up my still life photography work now everyone's handed in. I won't publish my studio photographs because they're not that interesting, but my location shots are a lot more interesting. I chose to base mines on the work on Martin Parr, Nan Goldin, Richard Billingham & Kevin Cummins.

Kevin Cummins location, he does a lot of band, laddish and football photography, so i went to the pub and dunked stuff in Tennents and got involved in interesting chats with old men.

Martin Parr does a lot of British themes, like Brits abroad and quintessentially British foods. I took inspiration from the British food bit, and thought about what I would class as a stereotypical 'Brit' food. I went to the chippy, Crollas, and a scaffy cafe.

Nan Goldin worked primarily during the 70s/80s, photographing the glamorous New York underworld. She features subdued lighting and relfections in her work, so i created my own little boudoir and recreated these moods.

And the final photographer was Richard Billingham, well known for his work 'Ray's a Laugh', where he photographed his family who are not exactly upper class. Our flat's rather scaffy so I just used what was available to me in each room.
